CTS-2108PA Ultrasonic Flaw Detector is the Instrument newly developed by "Goworld" as the first PA detector to reach 32:64 channel configuration. With water- & oil-proof panel and fan-free design, as well as easy and quick operation with all-course recording, It proves to be the most advanced and sophisticated portable phased array UT device in the country.

  • 32:64 detection channels, 32-element focusing, available with max 64-element PA probe. With certain set paras, more channels engaged, better soundpath steering and imaging. 64 channels for large C-scan area coverage on workpiece, enhancing detection efficiency.

1 Regular Detection on Welding Seam

PA S-Scan on BWS, FWS and TKY-WS of Steel Structure, utility boiler, pressure vessel, delivery duct, Nuclear Power, Oil Tank, and storage Tank. Full scan coverage over welding seam by direct echo and indirect echo, linewise scan style in lieu of zigzag style, signficant improvement of the detection efficiency and reliability.


2 Work pieces like blade root or those with confined space

Because there's not enough room for the probe to move, probes of different angles are employed in conventional UT detection. While Phased Array can reach full coverage via S-Scan, which improves the efficiency and reliability greatly.(Pls refer to DL/T714-2011 Steam Turbine Blade UT Guideline about PA detection on fir-tree blade root.


3 Detection on Screw Bolts

Screw bolts are used in the connections of many steel structures, radial cracks of the screw bolts have serious effects on the use of screw threads. In that case, the small-angle S-scan function of PA is introduced to cover the screw thread zone and judge the existence of cracks on the screw threads through visualized test results. The CTS-2108PA meets Appendix D of the Electric Power Standard DL/T 694-2012 High-temp Fastened Screw Bolts UT Guideline about PA technical provisions on high-temp screw bolts.


4 Rail WS Detection

Conventionally, multiple probes are used in order to fully cover the welding seams. But deflected scan of Phased Array will definitely save a lot of efforts in this job. PA images prove to be real contributor to Rail WS Management.


5 Railway Vehicle Wheel Axle and Wheel Set Detection

Usually, to-and-fro movement of multi-angle probes or probes of various angles is resorted to in wheel axle detection for full coverage. While PA S-Scan can accomplish full coverage over loading-relieving groove and the press fitting area of the wheel axle. Because of the monotony of axle models, modular contour profile of the wheel axle creates big convenience to flaw judgment, in the avoidance of errors or omissions due to inexperience of the operators. Speical auxiliary contact wedge and angle wedge are provided in the detection to go with the S-scan and L-scan for larger detection range. It's easy to handle and save a lot of efforts. Multi-angle scans and beams on the same flaw will give full evidence to it.


6 Al Alloy Friction Stir Welding Seam Detection

Use PA probe respectively for each side of the seam to spot longitudinal flaws. As prescribed, another PA probe is added for detecting lateral flaws; 65°and 35°for shear-wave detection on longitudinal flaws; 45°shear wave and -30~30°S-scan on lateral flaws. CTS-2108PA lives up to aviation standard (QJ20045-2011 Al Alloy FSWS Detection PA Guideline).


7 Ethylene Tube Butt

Application of PA L-scan to Ethylene Tube Electric Fusion Butt over properly welding, unfused welding and slags (sand or mud), overburnt welding and coldwelding, can come up with clear results for determination. Ethylene Tube Fusion Butt should be applied to with PA tandem scan and S-scan for full coverage with higher flaw detectable rate.


8 PA C-scan on Composite Materials

Composite Materials are widely used especially in aerospace and aviation. Single probe aiming at one point is of old school and would be prone to miss out the detectable. PA C-scan can increase testing speed, visualize common debonding flaws and evaluate the size of the flaw.
